Microsoft issued a large batch of updates today fixing several critical security flaws accross their software range. The patch includes 112 seperate fixes including one zero-day vulnberability.

In addition to the zero-day vulnerability, already being exploited putting Windows users at risk, Microsoft categorised 17 of the remaining fixes as critical with the remainer being given the status of 'Important' which usually refers to exploits that could compriomise data confidentiality or integrity.

With this release Microsoft are changing the way they report on fixes by adopting the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) format. This will bring Microsoft into line with the majority of major vendors.
