Who is it for?

SME Digital Growth Peer Network provides FREE support to Liverpool City region business leaders who do not have a technical background but do have responsibility for driving digital strategy and innovation within their organisation.

 

By joining our Network, you gain access to a community of peers; you will hear the latest thinking from our thought leaders, access learning materials, and can request facilitated action planning meetings with our industry experts or other community members to help drive your ongoing growth.

Building a Digital Growth Mindset

This free 5-month programme of learning and support helps our SME business leaders to develop a strong mindset for digital growth. By the end of the programme you will have greater knowledge, understanding and confidence around the key business areas where technology can leverage improved business performance and growth.

 

What's involved?

  • Peer-to-peer learning and support in a cohort of 15 business leaders from non-competing businesses.
  • 5 x 90-minute sessions over six months, taking place in central Liverpool.
  • Focused learning (at each session) around the five key topics
  • Tools and support to understand the impact and direction technology has on your business now and how to identify areas for positive change.
  • Free one-to-one consultancy and action planning session (optional).
  • Free membership to the Digital Growth Alumni events

Am I eligible?

It is free to join the SME Digital Growth Peer Network but places are strictly limited. Your business needs to be:

  • A small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) from any sector.
  • Based in the Liverpool City Region (Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley, St Helens, Sefton, and Wirral), in any sector.
  • Employing between 10 and 249 people.
  • Have a turnover of between £2m – 25m.

The applicant must be:

  • A senior decision maker within the organisation, motivated to learn about how technology and digital innovation can drive growth within their business.
  • Commit to attending all five sessions (one per month).
  • Prepared to contribute to the session discussions.

Our Five Topic Pillars

This programme provides the opportunity to improve your learning around business technology, discuss your own challenges, gain valuable feedback, and implement practical solutions to help you overcome business challenges and improve productivity and efficiency.

 

Board level attitude and aptitude for innovation

Including the questions that innovative SMEs are addressing at board level; the barriers to driving a digital mindset culture within your organisation and how to overcome them.

Secure and stable technology

Including is your IT infrastructure fit for purpose; is it scalable and efficient, does it help deliver the firms business strategy.

Data analytics and reporting

We discuss how most SMEs hold, store and report data, their over-reliance on Excel, and how the likes of Microsoft Power BI is transforming business intelligence.

Improving the customer experience

Here we discuss the automation of manual processes, the drive for increased transparency to clients, and how to improve customer service levels using digital platforms and portals.

Attracting and retaining talent

Including the demand by younger employees for new technologies and how this impacts recruitment; the use of technology in learning, development, and skills-based training; maintaining an engaged and motivated hybrid workforce.

Currently, it is free to enrol on the SME Digital Growth Peer Network Programme. Our next cohort starts March 2022 and runs through the following dates:


  • Session 1: Thu 10th March - 08:00 - 10:00
  • Session 2: Thu 7th April - 08:00 - 10:00
  • Session 3: Thu 12th May - 08:00 - 10:00
  • Session 4: Thu 9th June - 08:00 - 10:00
  • Session 5: Thu 7th July - 08:00 - 10:00

How can you get involved?

The SME Digital Growth Peer Network is free to join but we do have an application and vetting process in order to keep our community focused and relevant for our members. Peer groups are made up of non-competing businesses. This is an end-user only community and is not open to technology suppliers.

Members need to commit to attending a minimum of 75% of sessions.
Members are expected to share information and participate in surveys to help us gain a better understanding of
level and pace of digital innovation across Merseyside SMEs. Members receive priority access to survey results.
